Drivers Eyesight in the spotlight
It seems that according to a recent survey a big majority of the UK public would like to see drivers providing proof they have had a recent eyesight test when they renew their licenses. Specsavers, RSA Insurance Group, and road safety charity Brake carried out a survey, which showed 87% of people in favour. The survey also showed that one in four drivers had not had their eyes tested in over two years. Further to this one in five had not gone to visit the optician even after noticing a problem. 1.4 million UK drivers have never had their eyes tested and 12% of drivers knew that they required lenses or glasses to drive but had done so without them in the last year.
One way or another it seems the survey has uncovered an area that requires some improvement. Driving when your vision is not as good as it could be is without doubt a dangerous way to drive. We would always advise regular eye checks and the wearing of appropriate glasses or lenses. If this will result in a change to the licence renewal process at some point we don’t yet know but it would be interesting to find out.
Arrow Driving Academy
Well, the weather has turned a little over the last couple of weeks and weekends. When this happens it is always interesting to see the effect of this has on our students. As always, any weather difference a student can experience is always valuable. Once the practical driving test is passed and our students are legally able to drive their cars on the road the instructors direct influence is gone. As an instructor I always aim to give students the widest possible range of weather conditions to drive in. As much exposure to this as possible prior to test pass is always good. So I am not complaining!
Arrow Driving Academy – All feedback is valued
Our website is being updated on a regular basis and we are aiming to continue this as much as possible over the coming months so if any former or current students would like to leave feedback that would be fantastic. The feedback is always valuable and we would appreciate feedback on the lessons, website and overall impressions of Arrow Driving Academy and your experience with us. You can get that feedback to us anyway that is convenient. We have a dedicated Facebook page, and of course you can email or phone we also have a dedicated contact form, which can be found here. Anyway, that’s all for this week hope all is well with everyone.
